Glen @elephantbikes took care of me once again. The old mountain bike-turned-SS finally cracked at the gouged chainstay. It was loud and creaky. Glen gave it a fix up last night. It took him about n hour. He sliced an existing spare chainstay length wise to creat a little shield to cover the crack. He shaped and lightly pounded the shield to fit. Tacked it. Then a quickie weld job. I rode it hard today and it’s good as new. His prediction is that next failure will come from within. He saw a lot of rust in the bottom bracket and surrounding tubes. Bring it.
